2018-04-13 16:10:00

报告题目:恒元物理学讲座(第107期): Persistent luminescent materials emitting in the invisible spectral regions

报告日期:2018年4月13日

报告时间: 9:00

报 告 人:潘正伟 教授(University of Georgia)

报告地点:长安校区 物理学与信息技术学院六层学术报告厅(致知楼3623)

主办单位:物理学与信息技术学院

报告人简介:

Prof. Pan received his Ph.D.from Northwestern Polytechnic University in 1997. He conducted research at the City University of Hong Kong in 1999 and at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000–2001. He was a Staff Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory before joining the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2006. He is currently a Professor in the College of Engineering and Department of Physics and Astronomy of UGA.

Prof. Pan’s research interests focus on nanomaterials, persistent luminescent materials, and rare-earth activated luminescent materials. He is the recipient of the Second Class Award in Natural Science in China (2003) and the US National Science Foundation Early CAREER award (2010). He has published 130 research papers, including papers published in Science, Nature, Nature Materials and Physics Review Letters, which have been cited over 20,000 times.

报告摘要:

Persistent luminescent materials emitting in the visible spectral region have been extensively studied, and some of them have gained commercial success and are being widely used as night-vision materials in various important fields. In recent years, persistent phosphors emitting in the invisible (to human naked eyes) regions, including the near-infrared (NIR) region (~700–950 nm), the short-wave infrared (SWIR) region (~950–1700 nm) and the ultraviolet (UV) region (<400 nm), are attracting considerable attentions because of their potential applications in security, anti-counterfeiting, biomedical imaging and therapy, etc. In this talk, I will present our recent work in the design, synthesis, spectral characterization, mechanism study, and applications of NIR, SWIR and UV persistent phosphors.
